I always want to spend as much time having fun as possible so I end up scheduling barily enough time for what I have to do. I spent two weeks going to Denver and back which left two days to do everything I needed before I started the colportuer program for the summer. One day I spent getting the donation letters ready, the next I wrote the 1830 word research paper. I usually work best when pushed for time. I learned a lot while writing the research paper. The history of these islands is rich with stories of war, change and growth. I'm sure I've never seen anything like these islands, even though I'm from Florida and accustomed to the beach. They are so small I wonder how I will deal with living on a small piece of land, a meter above the gorgeous waters of the Pacific Ocean. Whatever the future brings, I'm looking forward to this new, wild environment.

Getting Ready
As with anything, there seams to be an interminably long preparation period. I just got done with half a semester of classes trying to get us ready for every possible scenerio. The thread running through it all is, "You can't be ready". It's ironic they are trying so hard to get us ready. I love doing and hate preparation. I always get into something and wish I had spent more time preparing, but know that if I had it all to do again, I probably wouldn't. I wonder how I will feel when I am far from home, living on a small island, a dot in the vastness of the Pacific Ocean.
